Who I am

Hi, I’m Jason—a Pacific Northwest native, half Japanese, and someone who has always been drawn to understanding people and supporting them through life’s challenges. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University, and my path into this field has been shaped both by professional experience and personal history. I’ve struggled with my own mental health in the past, and those experiences are a big part of why I became a therapist. I know what it feels like to need support, guidance, and a space where you don’t have to pretend—and I want to offer that to others who may be in the same place I once was.

My professional journey has included working as a Japanese preschool teacher, a behavioral specialist supporting children and adolescents, and a mental health counseling intern at Edmonds College. These roles taught me the importance of connection, cultural awareness, and honoring each person’s lived experience.

I work with teens, young adults, and adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, men’s issues, life transitions, and identity-related stress. I also enjoy supporting multicultural and Asian American clients, and anyone balancing family expectations, cultural identity, or multiple parts of themselves. My own bicultural background and lived experiences allow me to meet clients with genuine empathy, curiosity, and understanding.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, non-judgmental, holistic, and grounded in trust. I draw from person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, DBT, strengths-based approaches, and multicultural frameworks. I tailor therapy through collaborative goal-setting, flexible pacing, and an appreciation for each person’s cultural and personal context. In session, you can expect honesty, humor when it helps, real support, and a space where you can speak freely. My goal is simple: to help you reach your goals, at a pace that feels right for you.

Outside of therapy, I stay grounded through the things I love—playing video games, snowboarding, working out, spending time with friends, and appreciating tattoos as a form of self-expression. These parts of my life keep me balanced, creative, and connected to the joy and resilience I hope to help my clients build.

If you’re looking for a space where you can feel seen, supported, and understood, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
